The export diagnostic assessment is designed to ascertain a company’s strategic readiness to export.

This assessment breaks down into two subsections :

  1. the external factors that take into account the company’s business environment: conditions surrounding access to the target market, including the opportunities and constraints of the environment;
  2. the internal factors that highlight the company’s export strengths and weaknesses.

This assessment has two functions:

  1. To determine, without reference to a particular market, the ability of the company to export, given its resources and competencies;
  2. In the case of a specific export project, to assess a company’s chances of success in export by comparing its strengths and weaknesses with the conditions required to be successful in the target market.
